34th Annual Sports Breakfast
Benefiting the Denver Area Council Boy Scouts of America was a success!

The Sports Breakfast is an annual fund-raising event to benefit the diverse Scouting programs of Denver Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. The breakfast is an opportunity to showcase the Boy Scout programs to the general public and feature locally and nationally known speakers.

Pepsi Center with Ozzie Smith as the Keynote speaker.

Ozzie Smith, Legendary Baseball Hall of Famer will be our Keynote Speaker and this year's program will include a special address by National Chief Scout Executive Robert Mazzuca.

Ozzie Smith Legendary Baseball Hall of Famer

Ozzie Smith is known in baseball as "The Wizard" and the best defensive shortstop of all time. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002.

Ozzie retired from baseball in 1996 after playing 19 years in the major leagues. The first four years were with the San Diego Padres and the final fifteen with the St. Louis Cardinals. His nickname describes the way he played shortstop. He performed magic with his glove and performed in the infield with amazing acrobatic agility.

Ozzie broke countless records during his nineteen years in the majors:

-All-time leader at turning double plays, with 1,590
-13 consecutive Gold Glove Awards, signifying the best at his position
-Started at shortstop for 10 consecutive years in the All Star Game
-The number one vote getter over-all for the 1987 and 1988 All Star Games.

Scouting is as vital and relevant today as it was when our journey began.  Help us celebrate!
